We Must End the Tale of 2 Cities or Violence Will Escalate to Epidemic Levels

Chicago, IL –(ENEWSPF)–August 6, 2018

Rev. Gregory Seal Livingston, New Hope Baptist Church & Coalition for a New Chicago comments on weekend violence in Chicago:

“Our prayers, condolences and support are extended to the families and friends of the 73 shot and 11 killed in another Chicago weekend of tragic violence. Chicago must change now or this epidemic of violence will spread to the entire city. The March to Wrigley Field last Thursday was not an anti-violence mechanism but rather a light to illuminate the corruption, segregation and poverty that all play a part in generating this mayhem. We will continue to build leverage and push for solutions that transcend uncaring and socially regressive political agendas. Chicago’s City Hall’s lack of political will and vision are at the heart of our escalating violence.  We must end this Tale of Two Cities and fight for One Chicago. The time is now.”
