Matteson, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Students at St. Lawrence O’Toole School in Matteson have completed another summer of independent reading. The summer reading program was started ten years ago. This year’s theme was "Bank on Books,"and more than half the students participated. Special recognition was given to second grader, Leslie Hefner, who read 118 books, and to Chidinma Nwawueze, a fifth grader, who read 142, 018 pages. All of the students who participated were honored at an all school assembly and will be treated to an ice cream party later in September.
In addition, the students read enough pages to earn the exciting privilege of Mrs. Hofkamp, school principal, reading a book from the top of the school gym.
Good Job and remember you can always "Bank on Books"!
