Roosevelt University’s Music Conservatory Chorus Performs With Rolling Stones

ChorusBackStage

CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–June 6 2013.  The Music Conservatory Chorus from Roosevelt University  joined the Rolling Stones for their hit song “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” during three shows at the United Center on May 28, 31 and June 3.

Choral directors Cheryl Frazes Hill, head of music education and director of choral activities, and Mark Crayton conducted the Roosevelt students and alumni in an a cappella  introduction before the Rolling Stones joined them on stage for each show’s first encore.

The singers, who have been classically trained at CCPA, practiced their parts for the iconic Stones song during four rehearsals at the University before taking the stage with the legendary rock band.
“It was a great honor for the Roosevelt Conservatory Chorus to be asked to do this,” said Hill. “It’s been an extraordinary learning experience for our students and a wonderful opportunity for them to be showcased as they move forward in pursuing professional singing careers.”
