Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Forest Trail Middle School students were among the top ranking students in the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics’ statewide math competition. The school’s seventh and eighth grade teams each took First Honors in the math competition. The seventh grade team placed 27th out of 63 competing teams and the eighth grade team placed 25th out of 62 competing teams.
The Forest Trail students competed individually and in teams in three rounds of the competition, which were held throughout the 2010-2011 school year. The students’ math teachers are Valerie Valente, Martha Brennan and Alicia Zachary.
