Northern Peru-(ENEWSPF)- A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck northern Peru on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 12:46:11 PM at the epicenter, 12:46:11 PM (CDT) – Central Daylight (Chicago).
The epicenter was located at coordinates 7.644°S, 74.506°W at a depth of 145.1 km (90.2 miles), 82 km (50 miles) N of Pucallpa, Peru; 210 km (130 miles) W of Cruzeiro do Sul, Acre, Brazil; 315 km (195 miles) NE of Huanuco, Peru; and 567 km (352 miles) NNE of LIMA, Peru.
This event has been reviewed by a seismologist, the United States Geological Survey reports.
