Alaska-(ENEWSPF)- The United States Geological Survey has issued a report of a 4.1 magnitude earthquake striking central Alaska today, Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 03:18:52 UTC (Monday, August 15, 2011 at 10:18:52 PM (CDT) – Central Daylight – Chicago).
According to the USGS, the exact location was 62.639°N, 151.158°W at a depth of 88.7 km (55.1 miles).
The epicenter was 36 km (22 miles) NW (324°) from Petersville, AK; 55 km (34 miles) NW (312°) from Trapper Creek, AK; 60 km (38 miles) WNW (294°) from Chase, AK; and 177 km (110 miles) NNW (336°) from Anchorage, AK.
There are no reports of damage, and, indeed, no reports any human, at least, felt the quake.
