5.6 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Fiji Region

Fiji Region-(ENEWSPF)- The United States Geological Surey issued a report on a 5.6 magnitude earthquake in the Fiji Region of the South Pacific Ocean.

Rumbling at a depth of 414.5 km (257.6 miles), the quake struck 283 km (175 miles) SSE of Sigave, Ile Futuna, Wallis and Futuna; 343 km (213 miles) WSW of Hihifo, Tonga; 370 km (229 miles) SSW of MATA’UTU, Ile Uvea, Wallis and Futuna; and 2396 km (1488 miles) NNE of Auckland, New Zealand.

There is no current tsunami watch, warning or advisory in effect.
