East Africa-(ENEWSPF)- The United States Geological Survey has issued a report of a 4.8 magnitude earthquake rumbling the Carlsberg Ridge in the Indian Ocean off the east coast of Africa.
According to the USGS, the exact location was 4.907°N, 61.532°E at a rather shallow depth of 10.2 km (6.3 miles).
The epicenter was 1233 km (766 miles) SE of Qalansiyah, Socotra Island, Yemen; 1251 km (777 miles) NNE of VICTORIA, Seychelles;1285 km (798 miles) ESE of Xaafuun, Somalia; and 2832 km (1759 miles) ENE of NAIROBI, Kenya.
There are no reports of damage, and, indeed, no reports any human, at least, felt the quake.
