Police Respond to Two Separate Reports of Shots Fired Over Weekend

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Police responded to two separate reports of shots fired, one on Saturday, October 10; the other Sunday, October 11. The incidents were unrelated, according to police. One person, who was not the intended victim of one of the shootings, suffered a “minor injury,” according to police.

On Saturday, around 10 p.m., Park Forest Police responded to the 200 block of Miami Street for a report of shots fired. No one was injured in the incident, but a home and vehicle were struck, accorxding to police.

On Sunday, November 11, shortly before 11 p.m., Park Forest Police responded to the 100 block of Sycamore Drive for a report of shots fired. In this case, police believe an individual was a target of the shooting. That individual who was not struck, police said in a statement. However, one person who not otherwise believed to be connected to the event suffered a minor injury.

“We have no reason to believe that the two incidents are connected,” police said in a statement, “and additional information will not be released at this time as both are under active investigation.”

Police then wrote about the necessity of sharing such information with the public.

“We don’t like posting about incidents like these taking place in our community,” police said. “We know it doesn’t represent the good, hard-working people who live in Park Forest. But we also believe we have a duty to keep you informed about events that take place where you live.”
