Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An air-conditioning unit was reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Tomahawk Street on October 13.

Jose Luis Hernandez, 31, 22 Apache St., Park Forest, was arrested in the course of another investigation on October 12 and charged October 14 with possession of a fictitious driver’s license and driving while license was revoked.

Following up on a tip from some residents October 14, police discovered that five residences in the 300 block of Somonauk Street had either the entire or part of the air conditioning units at those addresses stolen.

A lime green "Next" bicycle was reported stolen from the 300 block of Meota Street on October 14.

Johnny Terell Fleming, 35, 508 W. Hickory St., Chicago Heights, was arrested on October 14 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license was revoked, fleeing/eluding a police officer, disobeying a stop sign, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Police say an officer patrolling on Allegheny Street observed the vehicle Fleming was driving allegedly traveling east on Algonquin Street approaching Allegheny Street at a very high rate of speed. According to police, the vehicle allegedly made a wide turn, turning north on Allegheny Street, accelerated in speed and nearly sideswiped the patrol vehicle of the observing officer.

Approximately $250 cash, a duffel bag valued at $20, a cell phone valued at $20, a Toshiba laptop computer valued at $500, a computer valued at $200, a Dell laptop computer valued at $500, a 4G modem valued at $50, and a 19-inch flat-screen television valued at $150 were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Sauk Trail on October 15.

Jose De Jesus Galvin, 33, 204 Monee Rd., Park Forest, was arrested on October 15 and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Monee Road in reference to a report of a domestic disturbance.

A window of a residence in the 300 block of Mohawk Street was reported shattered on October 15. Additionally, a screen door was also observed to have been damaged.

Mamdooh B. Grinner, 25, of Sauk Village, was arrested on October 15, processed on an outstanding warrant out of Cook County, and charged with obstructing — giving a false name, according to police — when police responded to the 300 block of Sauk Trail to investigate a report of a disturbance.

Several Halloween yard decorations in the front yard of a residence in the 300 block of Winnebago Street were reported vandalized or destroyed on October 15.

Police recovered a vehicle that had been stolen out of Chicago Heights in the 300 block of Nassau Street on October 16.

A building in the first block of North Street was reported vandalized on October 16. Police estimate damages at $2500.

Steven Tracy Mitchell, 25, 4140 Arlington Dr., Richton Park, was arrested on October 16 and charged with possession of cannabis, making an improper turn, failure to signal and unsafe tires when an officer traveling southbound on Orchard Drive approaching Westwood Drive observed the vehicle Mitchell was driving turn onto Orchard Drive without using a turn signal and turning into the far second lane of traffic, according to police.

A mirror of a van parked in the 200 block of Nashua Street was reported shattered on October 17.

A window of a residence in the first block of Indianwood Boulevard was reported shattered on October 17.

Police were dispatched to a business in the first block of South Orchard Drive on October 18 where a manager advised police that the store was in receipt of a fraudulent $20 bill. Police alerted the United States Secret Service.

Andrew M. Williams, 24, 3616 Lee Ave., Richton Park, was arrested on October 18 and charged with possession of cannabis when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Sauk Trail to investigate a report of a possible sighting of stolen property.

Police say $25 cash was reported stolen from a patron of a business in the 300 block of Sauk Trail on October 18.

Perla Aldape, 20, 591 W. 15th St., Chicago Heights, was arrested on October 18 and charged with possession of cannabis, obstructing identification, exceeding the posted speed limit, no front registration plate, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and no valid driver’s license. An officer was traveling eastbound on 26th Street when he observed that the vehicle Aldape was driving westward on 26th Street was traveling at a high rate of speed, according to police.

A juvenile was arrested on October 18 and processed in connection with a report of theft that allegedly occurred in the first block of Kentucky Court.

Dashawn C. Dandridge, 20, 15327 S. Seeley St., Harvey, was arrested on October 19 and charged with possession of cannabis and issued traffic citations charging no registration plate light and an uninsured motor vehicle when police patrolling in the area of Illinois Street and Western Avenue observed that the vehicle Dandridge was driving had no registration plate light, according to police.

Michella K. Payne, 30, 31 Indianwood Blvd., Park Forest, was arrested on October 19 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the first block of Indianwood Boulevard to investigate a domestic battery complaint.

Richard R. Sult, 55, 237 Dogwood St., Park Forest, was arrested on October 19 and charged with felony aggravated driving while license was revoked and felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol. Police say while they were investigating an unrelated traffic accident at the intersection of Western Avenue and Sauk Trail, they observed that the vehicle Sult was driving had a flat rear passenger side tire. And police say the Park Forest Fire Department had several apparatus units at the intersection and there were two tow trucks present as well. Police say while they were directing traffic so that vehicles could proceed around the emergency vehicles, Sult allegedly disobeyed directions, continuing into the intersection and almost striking a patrol vehicle that was near a tow truck.

A JVC CD player valued at $100 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 23400 block of Western Avenue on October 20. Police say the driver’s door window of the vehicle was shattered to gain entry.

A juvenile was arrested on October 20 and processed in connection with an incident at Rich East High School where the juvenile allegedly lost his temper and punched a glass fixture, causing the glass to shatter, according to police.

Three pairs of shoes valued at $150 total were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Marquette Street on October 20. Police say a locked door had been forced open to gain entry.

Police say three men forced their way into a residence in the 200 block of Allegheny Street on October 21. Police say the resident at that address heard loud noises and banging outside but did not respond. The three forced their way into the residence through a side door, apparently thinking the residence was vacant. When the resident confronted the men, they ran towards her in the hallway, pushed her down to the ground to get passed her, and ran out the side door.

Robert A. Williams, 38, 112 Nanti St., Park Foreset, was arrested on October 21 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 100 block of Nanti Street in reference to a report of domestic battery.

A Nintendo Wii game system and a Sony iPod were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Manitowoc Street on October 21.

Police say someone shot six bullets through a wall of a residence in the 300 block of Wilshire Street on October 22. Police recovered evidence from the scene, including two discharged bullets. There were no injuries.

A window of a residence in the 300 block of Sauk Trail was reported shattered on October 22.

Four windows of a residence in the 200 block of Arcadia Street were reported shattered on October 22.

Deborah A. White, 23, 759 Burr Oak Lane, University Park, was arrested on October 22 and charged with battery when police were dispatched to the 100 block of Hemlock Street to investigate a report of a disturbance. A juvenile at the scene was also arrested and issued a municipal citation charging obstruction of justice.
