Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. A window of a residence in the 500 block of Lakewood Boulevard was reported shattered on March 5.

Marquis T. Calicott, 19, 1906 Ashland Ave., Chicago Heights, was arrested on March 12 and charged with illegal transportation or possession of alcoholic liquor by a driver when an officer patrolling in the area of Sauk Trail and Blackhawk Drive observed suspicious activity at a business in the 300 block of Sauk Trail. A passenger in the vehicle, Michael L. Norman, 20, 140 Doris Lane, Chicago Heights, was also arrested and charged with possession of cannabis.

James E. Davis, 40, 26 Hemlock St., Park Forest, was arrested on March 13 and charged with criminal damage to property and criminal trespass to real property when police were dispatched to the first block of North Street in reference to a burglar alarm sounding.

All four tires of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Westwood Dr. were reported slashed on March 14. Police also observed scratches on the driver’s door, and the gas cap." Total damage to the vehicle is estimated at $725. Police have suspect information and continue to investigate.

Pedro E. Mendoza, 27, 415 Rutledge St., Park Forest, was arrested on March 14 and charged with driving on a suspended license, possession of cannabis and charged with improper lighting of one headlamp when an officer patrolling in the area of Sauk Trail and Blackhawk Drive observed that the vehicle Mendoza was driving had only one headlamp lit.

A juvenile was arrested on March 15 and charged with two counts of aggravated battery against a school employee when police were dispatched to Park Forest Academy in reference to an incident where a student had allegedly battered the principal.

Police were dispatched to the first block of North Street to investigate motion detectors and burglar alarms sounding. Police found no suspects but discovered a hacksaw, a pair of wire cutters, a screwdriver, and other paraphernalia that was left in the lobby of the building.

An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Sherman Street on March 15 to investigate a complaint of financial identity theft. A resident told police that an unknown person had used her name and Social Security number to open an account with Comcast and Dish Network for services at another location in Chicago. The woman discovered that she owns $612.02 to Dish Network and that the debt has been placed with a collection agency. Police have suspect information and continue to investigate.

Police were dispatched to the first block of East Rocket Circle to investigate a report of an alarm going off. Upon arrival, officers checked the exterior of the residence and located a shattered window of the west side of the residence. Nothing was missing from the residence. It appeared that an attempted residential burglary had been foiled.

Police responded to a residence in the 23400 block of Western Avenue on March 17 in reference to a complaint of domestic battery. Police have suspect information and continue to investigate.

An officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Lakewood Boulevard on March 18 to investigate a complaint of debit card fraud. A resident told police he had been advised of two transactions made at a Target store in Paramus, New Jersey, in the amounts of $202.45 and $202.77. The man had been advised to call police and was told that the money will be reimbursed into his account. Police continue to investigate.

A man living in the 100 block of Algonquin Street told police on March 18 that he had been stabbed with a small knife, approximately 3 to 4 inches, after a car had pulled up in front of his house and someone had accused him of "messing with" another person. Police interviewed the man at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights where he had gone for treatment. Detectives are investigating.

Cyreatha Moore, 19, 1274 S. Greenbay Ave., Calumet City, was arrested on March 18 and charged with domestic battery, criminal damage to property, and criminal trespass to state supported property when police were dispatched to Rich East High School in reference to a report of a domestic battery that had occurred moments earlier at Westwood Drive and Willow Street.
