Steger, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Police are asking the public’s help locating a 14-year-old girl missing from Steger. Karissa R. Clausen-Breshears has been missing since December 11, 2018, according to a release from the Steger Police Department.

According to Steger Police Chief Kenneth E. Boehm Jr., this is not the first time Karissa has disappeared. Chief Boehm said she is a “habitual runaway,” and has been uncooperative with police and her parent when she returned in the past.

The fact that Karissa has disappeared before does not lessen the seriousness of this situation, however.

According to the initial statement put out by the Steger Police Department, on December 11 2018, around 3:30 PM, the Steger Police Department was notified of a missing juvenile. The mother reported that her daughter had been missing since December 8, 2018.

She was last seen at the Steger-South Chicago Heights Public Library with her sister. She left her sister at the Library and walked in an unknown direction.

Karissa is described as 14 years old, 5’03”, weighing 160 lbs. She was last seen wearing a black puffy coat, a black t-shirt, black leggings, and black shoes.

The juvenile has a history, of running away and frequents the Forest Preserves between Steger, South Chicago Heights, and Park Forest. She also has been known to hitchhike and on one occasion was driven as far away as Morocco, Indiana, and Kankakee, Illinois.

The Steger Police Department is investigating the matter.
