Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- At least five vehicles were reported vandalized on March 19 on Minocqua and Miami Streets.
An officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Minocqua Street on March 19 10:45 p.m. where a resident reported that someone had spray painted the left side of a car. When the officer arrived, the gold paint was still wet on the left rear fender, the left rear door and left rear window.
The reporting officer, Corporal Boulden, discovered a van in the same block that had been spray painted with gold paint.
Police began searching the area for other vandalized vehicles. Officer Rimovsky discovered a vehicle in the 300 block of Miami Street that had gold spray paint, still wet. Corporal Boulden was called to another residence in the 300 block of Minocqua Street where another vehicle had been spray painted. While investigating, he discovered another vehicle in the same block that had gold spray paint on it.
In the course of their investigation, police conducted a canvass in the area of Miami and Minocqua Streets. On March 22, they spoke with a resident in the 300 block of Miami Street who told them her vehicle had been vandalized with gold paint, and the damage may have occurred on March 19. Police also recovered a can of gold spray paint in the rear yard of a residence in the same block.
While completing the canvass, police discovered another vehicle, this one in the 300 block of Minocqua Street, that had gold spray paint on the rear license plate.
Police continue to investigate.
