Rich East Scores Well at BPA Nationals

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Five Rich East students scored high at the National Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, Calif., in early May.

Earning high honors for the Rockets were: Anna Kurnat, a senior, finished 22nd out of 62 in "Basic Systems & Procedures;" junior Christian Williams, who placed in three categories, 33rd out of 378 in "Personal Financial Management Concept," 55th out of 719 in "Financial Math and Analysis," 59th out of 719 in "Administrative Support Concepts," and senior Sarah Abbott, finished 74th out of 615 in "Management, Marketing and Human Resources Concepts," and senior Gabrielle Hernandez also attended and was supporting her team as an alternate in several categories.

"I just have to congratulate their spectacular performances," said Rocket BPA Advisor Matt Shank. "With the guidance of our superior teaching from our staff, our students represented Rich East and Illinois very well. They all did a fantastic job against some very good competition.

"They also had an opportunity to meet like-minded students from across the country. It was a good experience and a lot of fun for them"

Business Professionals of America is the leading CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organization) for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology and other related career fields.BPA has 43,000 members in more than 2,300 chapters in nearly three dozen states and Puerto Rico. BPA is a co-curricular organization that supports business and information technology educators by offering co-curricular exercises based on national standards.
