Meet Rich East’s Finest: Ambra Rogers

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- eNews Park Forest is pleased once again to present our series featuring Park Forest’s best and brightest students, today introducing Ambra Rogers, a life-long, 18-year resident of Park Forest who enjoys Spanish and involves herself in a number of activities: Cheerleading, Mathletes, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and Volleyball.

Meet Ambra Rogers:

  1. Are you a Park Forest Resident: Yes. All my life, 18 years!
  2. At Rich East all four years: Yes.
  3. Favorite classes and why:  Spanish because learning a second language could help my career and education in the near future. Also, mathematics in general because I like challenging myself to finding all solutions to a problem.
  4. Favorite teachers: Mrs. Spann, because I loved learning a second language and she made it easy for me to understand; Mrs. Brooks, because she is always cheerful and welcomes everyone; Mrs. Moler because she was my PSAE/ACT mentor and she was helpful to me when I needed her.
  5. GPA/Class Rank: 3.83/6th of 204.
  6. ACT: 25
  7. Areas met on PSAE: Reading and Math.
  8. AP Exams: I will be taking the AP Literature and AP Psychology tests in the spring.
  9. Activities/Athletics/Clubs participated in/Special awards for academics and/or athletics: Cheerleading, Mathletes, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Volleyball. I also received an Academic Excellence Award, Illinois State Scholar and received a Scholar Athlete Award.
  10. Clubs, hobbies, community/special volunteering in community: I am a member of the Precious Mentoring Program through the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
  11. College choice/major: I have been accepted at Grand Valley State in Michigan. I am still undecided about my major.
  12. Where do you want to be in five years/in 10 years: In five years I plan to be working in a career of my major choice, being able to provide for myself. In 10 years, if I have a family, I want to be supporting them and myself as best I can.
