Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- eNews Park Forest continues its series featuring Park Forest’s best and brightest students, today introducing Adam Halfaker, a life-long resident of Park Forest. Favorite classes? History of Thought of Western Man, AP World History, and AP Biology. He plays the guitar, plans on attending the University of Illinois at Chicago, and is considering a science or humanities major.

Meet Adam Halfaker:

  1. Are you a Park Forest Resident: Yes, my whole life.
  2. At Rich East all four years: Yes, all four years, from 2007 – 2011.
  3. Favorite classes:  History of Thought of Western Man, “Because it squeezes in so much useful knowledge in those two years (we take the class)”; AP World History, Because “Dr. Epstein is an amazing teacher and the ‘world view’ of history that she projects is very good to know; AP Biology, “Because we got to dissect things at the end of the year.”
  4. Favorite teachers and/or coaches: Dr. Epstein. Mr. Grigsby.
  5. GPA/Class Rank: 3.315/34th of 204
  6. ACT: 29.
  7. Areas met or exceeded on PSAE: Exceeded in Reading. Met in Math.
  8. AP Exams: English Comp/Language 4, U.S. History 3. This spring, I will be taking the AP Psychology and AP World History Exam.
  9. Activities/Athletics/Clubs  participated in/Special awards: Scholastic Bowl, second place as a team in conference, defeating rival Kankakee; French National Honor Society; GSA.
  10. Clubs, hobbies, special volunteering in community: I play guitar, do odd jobs; I like helping my neighbors with small tasks, watching neighbor’s house/cats while he was in Texas.
  11. College choice/major:  University of Illinois-Chicago. I am considering a science or humanities major.
  12. Where do you want to be in five/ten years:  In five years I would like to be working/travelling somewhere abroad … maybe? In 10 years, hopefully making more money so I can travel.
