Chicago Heights, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Generation Green, a student-run recycling program at Marian Catholic High School, sponsored the second annual Community Electronics Recycling Drive on Saturday, May 11, at Marian Catholic High School in Chicago Heights. The free event, which accepted unwanted or broken computers, monitors, printers, laptops, TV’s, stereo equipment, microwaves, or large household appliances, successfully filled two large trucks with items destined for recycling.

The President of Generation Green, senior Jocelyn Lloyd of Lynwood, who was responsible for organizing such events and arranging student volunteers, believes their efforts are making a difference. “My favorite part about Generation Green is helping the world by recycling unwanted materials and putting them to use,” said Lloyd.

Jennifer Clifford and Tona Haywood, co-moderators of this event, were proud of the forty-five students who became Marian Catholic community ambassadors while volunteering their time to help the environment.

Generation Green, which oversees all recycling programs at Marian Catholic, includes more than 45 Marian Catholic student volunteers. For more information about the Community Electronic Recycling Drive, please contact Marian Catholic High School at 708-755-7565.
