CenterPoint Offers Workshops on Starting Businesses


University Park, IL-(ENEWSPF)- CenterPoint at Governors State University is sponsoring four Starting a Business in Illinois workshops for Chicago Southland residents.

The free two-hour workshops focus on the personal, financial, and legal aspects of starting a business. Participants will learn what steps to take and what resources are available to assist new business owners succeed in today’s challenging economic climate.

Workshops will be presented:

  • On Wednesday, November 30, at 6 p.m., at Markham City Hall, 16313 South Kedzie Parkway, Markham. Elliott Johnson, regional representative for GSU CenterPoint, will present the program, which is sponsored by the City of Markham.
  • On Thursday, December 1, at 9 a.m., at Lemont Village Hall, 418 Main Street, Lemont. Judi Mack, regional representative for GSU CenterPoint, will present the program, sponsored by the Village of Lemont.
  • On Monday, December 5, at 5:30 p.m., at Old Plank Trail Bank, 20901 S. LaGrange Road, Frankfort. Judi Mack will present the program, sponsored by Old Plank Trail Bank.
  • On Tuesday, December 6, at 6 p.m., at Markham City Hall. Elliott Johnson will present the program, sponsored by the City of Markham.
