University Park, IL—(ENEWSPF)–November 4, 2013 – Prepare to be impressed by the diverse and rich culture that surrounds us. Governors State University offers a colorful mixture of music, dance, food and fun during International Education Week and Global Entrepreneurship Week. International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S Department of State and the U.S department of Education to celebrate and promote international education and exchange all around the world.
Multicultural Festival begins the celebration on Monday, November 11, from 4 to 7 p.m., in the Hall of Governors. The Multicultural Festival continues through November 15. This year the theme is “Around the World in 80 Days”Although the event showcases multiple unique ethnic students and organizations, together the diversity creates a complete representation of many underrepresented groups on the GSU campus. Planning the Multicultural Festival this year proved possible with the collaboration of student organizations and international students as well as local performers and restaurants. The celebration includes performances by GSU’s International Dance Troup, Storyteller Greg Weiss, Akwaaba Duo from the Old Town School of Folk Music, and Performance by Kalapriya Center for Indian Performing Arts.
Admission to the festival is free. People interested in attending are encouraged to bring their friends and family — and become a part of this annual event. In addition to the Multicultural Festival, GSU also has other events open to the public, which celebrate International Education Week and Global Entrepreneurship Week:
