CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–February 6, 2014. Forty College of Pharmacy students recently volunteered at Feed My Starving Children in Schaumburg, a not-for-profit that helps routinely feed hungry children all over the world.
Pharmacy students packaged 77 boxes of foodstuffs, which the organization is estimating will provide more than 16,000 meals to 45 children over the course of a year.
“We are glad to be given this opportunity to attend the College of Pharmacy and to be part of an organization that is so willing to pull together for the community,” said Courtney Makowski, a 2016 PharmD candidate and organizer of the Feed My Starving Children volunteer event that was held on Jan. 29.
“The only way to truly appreciate what we have is to help give someone else the same quality of life that we enjoy,” said Makowski. “Nothing could make me happier than to have a big group of students to share the giving experience with.”
