Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—April 26, 2015. Works done by Union Street Studio and Guild Artists will be featured in ‘Outlooks and Insights’ opening at the Tall Grass Arts Association, 367 Artists Walk, Park Forest on Friday, May 1. The exhibit runs through June 6.

An Artists’ Reception will be held on Friday, May 1 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and an Artists’ Open House with artists’ discussions and demonstrations will begin on Saturday, May 2 at 11 a.m. The exhibit, reception and Open House are free and open to the public.

The 65 paintings, drawings, photographs, prints, sculpture and mixed media works that are included in ‘Outlooks and Insights’ represent some of the current directions Union Street artists are pursuing – from very literal or expressive observations of nature, people, animals, and objects, to personal interpretations of memories, dreams, states of mind, conflicts, puzzles and solutions, the inner visions that inspire symbolic or purely abstract responses to media and intuition.

Artists participating in ‘Outlooks and Insights’ are: Marjorie Anderson, Richard Benoit, Maureen Cribbs, Mike Dornseif, Suzanne Dreher, Barbara Edwards, Pam Eberlin, Dorita Fuller, Irene Ganas, Christy Goselin, Margi Hafer, Linda Lane Haynes, Madeline Henry, Eve Jensen, Aline Keith, Bill Marquardsen, Elaine Martin, Diane McGarel, Joe McIlhany, Renee Klyczek Nordstrom, Roger Paris, Stuart Pearson, Linda Peterson, Ginny Raftery, Pamela Rodey, Leon Sarantos, Richard Schmidt, Jean Schuster, and Mary Ann Trzyna.

Union Street Gallery houses artists’ studios within its historic Chicago Heights building, that are rented to artists once they are juried in to the collaborative artists group. Besides producing their own creative work, Union Street Studio Artists help develop programming, planning and execution of all Union Street Gallery activities. Involved in both exhibits and other events presented by the gallery, Studio Artists also participate in a variety of community activities, lectures, classes, and workshops.

The Union Street Guild is composed of artists who also go through a jurying process before being accepted, but do not rent studios at the gallery, and who seek to form a network with other serious artists from the region.

Both Studio and Guild groups attempt to serve the collaborative needs of artists, who may be at many different levels of experience with their work, from relative beginner to nationally-exhibited professional. The work they produce is frequently displayed and awarded honors in local, regional, and national exhibits, and includes a diverse mix of approaches to subjects, media and styles.
