Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—March 6, 2012. A Natural Lawn Care Workshop for Schools and Childcares will be held on Thursday, March 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Northwest Indiana Educational Service Center, 2939 41st Street, Highland, Indiana. Chip Osborne, renowned natural lawn care expert, will be the featured speaker.
Participants will find out how the ‘Indiana Pesticide Rule for Schools’ impact your facility and staff. You will learn how to:
- Protect children’s health.
- Use the soil food web, optimal grass selection and effective controls for weed and pest management to create durable high quality turf.
- Discover the advantages of organic fertilizers, natural pest control and compost teas.
- Transition athletic fields, reduce pesticide use and communicate clearly with the public on your actions.
The workshop is being presented by Safer Pest Control Project (SPCP), NWIESC, Sea Grant, Great Lakes Restoration, Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission and Lawn to Lake.
