Donna Summer, the ‘Queen of Disco’ Dies from Cancer

FLORIDA—(ENEWSPF)—May 17, 2012.  Donna Summer, the ‘Queen of Disco’ died today surrounded by her family after suffering from cancer.  She was 63 years old.

Her publicist, Brian Edwards, issued the following statement:  “Early this morning, we lost Donna Summer Sudano, a woman of many gifts, the greatest being her faith. While we grieve her passing, we are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy. Words truly can’t express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time.”

Summer’s hits included “Hot Stuff,” “Bad Girls,” Love to Love You Baby,” “Last Dance” and “She Works Hard for the Money.”
