Sumatra, Indonesia-(ENEWSPF)- The United States Geological Service has issued a report of a 6.0 magnitude earthquake striking southwest of Sumatra, Indonesia. The quake happened on Monday, August 22, 2011 at 20°2:20 UTC, at a precise location of 6.410°S, 103.985°E, and a depth of 31.3 km (19.4 miles).
The epicenter was 176 km (110 miles) SW (233°) from T.-Telukbetung, Sumatra, Indonesia; 307 km (191 miles) W (264°) from JAKARTA, Java, Indonesia; and 320 km (199 miles) W (280°) from Sukabumi, Java, Indonesia.
No current tsunami warning, watch or advisory is in effect.
