Washington, DC–(ENEWSPF)–September 29, 2015. In response to the upcoming Planned Parenthood hearing this morning, NARAL Pro-Choice America released a statement from Sasha Bruce, Senior Vice President of Campaigns and Strategy:
“Today, the witch hunt against Planned Parenthood continues, demonstrating just how far anti-choice and extremist politicians are willing to go to deny women the high quality healthcare they have come to expect. The heavily edited videos, which are being used as a pretense in this campaign to erode our constitutional rights, do not fool the millions who have walked through the doors of a Planned Parenthood clinic to experience their compassionate care for themselves.”
“A majority of voters across the political spectrum are united in their support for reproductive freedom, and for Planned Parenthood. The extreme GOP minority is obsessed with dismantling the care that allows women to visit trusted medical providers. These anti-choice politicians are failing the public they are tasked to serve. If this charade of a hearing proves anything, it will be that Planned Parenthood is critical to the health and well-being of our communities. Americans will not be held hostage by politicians more motivated by their personal beliefs than protecting those who live in their districts.”
More than 60,000 NARAL Pro-Choice America members signed the petition supported by over 2 million people across the country urging Congress not to defund Planned Parenthood. Sasha Bruce, Senior Vice President of Campaigns and Strategy at NARAL Pro-Choice America, will participate in the noon Planned Parenthood press conference at the House Triangle at 1pm.
