Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- A Ford Heights woman was charged with battery after police responded to a report of a fight between two women in a parking lot on May 22.
Claudia C.M. Johnson, 24, of Ford Heights, was arrested on May 22 and charged with one count of battery. Police were dispatched at 8 PM to the 3500 block of Western Avenue to investigate a report of a fight between two women in a parking lot.
When police arrived, they located a vehicle in the middle of the parking lot occupied by Claudia C. M. Johnson. Ms. Johnson had bloodied and broken fingernails, according to police. Ms. Johnson told an officer that she currently lives in Ford Heights but she is on a lease in the 3500 block of Western Avenue for her child’s father. Her child’s father has a girlfriend who lives at that residence with him, according to the report.
Earlier that day, Ms. Johnson and the girlfriend got into an altercation via text message and both allegedly agreed to fight one another at the Park Forest residence, according to the report.
While an officer was speaking with Ms. Johnson, she dropped a silver folding box cutter knife from her hands onto the driver’s side floorboard of the vehicle in which she was sitting, according to police. The officer retrieved the knife for safety reasons.
While interviewing witnesses, an officer heard Ms. Johnson allegedly tell someone via FaceTime that she cut the girlfriend during the course of the fight with the silver pocket knife police had recovered.
Ms. Johnson posted bond and has a mandatory court appearance on June 28, 2018, at the Markham Courthouse. Her vehicle was towed from the scene.
