Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Our Jewish brothers and sisters begin celebrating Passover the evening of Friday, April 19. Passover ends the evening of Saturday, April 27. If you have Jewish friends or would like to try wishing them joy during Passover, “Happy Pesach!” is a fine greeting. “Pesach” is Hebrew for “Passover.” The last two letters in English are guttural. Try making a noisy, breathy sound on the “ch” when saying “Loch Ness” and you’ll approximate the last letters of “Pesach.”
Our Christian brothers and sisters (most of them) began celebrating Holy Week with today’s observance of Palm Sunday. The appropriate greeting, even now, would be “Happy Easter!” as Christians look forward to celebrating the Triduum this week: Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday.
The Village Board will hold a Regular Meeting on Monday, April 15. That means there’s voting involved. Find the complete agenda for the meeting here. Plan on attending a board meeting or find out how to either watch the next meeting live or see past meetings by clicking here.
There are more events on the docket this week at the Library for children of all ages, from infant to elder adult. All event titles below are links that will take you to the PFPL’s page for more information.
