Rotary Club of Park Forest to Present 28th Annual ‘Do It Yourself Messiah’ on Saturday, December 8

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—December 4, 2012.  The Rotary Club of Park Forest presents its 28th Annual ‘Do It Yourself Messiah’ at Faith United Protestant Church this coming Saturday, December 8 at 3:00 PM.  Faith Church is located at 10 Hemlock in Park Forest. The ‘Do-It-Yourself Messiah’ is sponsored by The Music Connection. 

The performance will include Part 1 and the Hallelujah chorus. The Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra, assisted by area professional musicians, will be on hand to provide full orchestra accompaniment to choruses and solos.   

The Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Incredible Opportunity Program under the direction of Katie Bern, Music Director, will also provide prelude music and a holiday carol sing-a-long. Vocal Soloists are Lisa Kristina, soprano; Jo Rodenburg, alto; Henry Hunt, tenor; and Douglas Ulreich, bass.  Orchestra conductor is Frederick Kuester. Choral conductor is Marie Amenta. 

All people who are familiar with the choruses of the Messiah are invited to come and sing.  Please bring your score; if you do not own one and wish to purchase, they will be available at the door for $10.  

The public is most welcome and invited to attend.  Admission is free with a “free will” offering to be taken to help fund service projects of Rotary such as the dictionary distribution to area primary schools, and scholarship awards to Suburban Youth Symphony orchestra students for summer study.   For more details, visit the Rotary website at www.rotaryofparkforest.org.
