CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–September 19, 2011. Governor Pat Quinn released a statement on the passing of former U.S. Senator Charles H. Percy, who served the people of Illinois from 1967 to 1985.
“I am saddened to hear of Senator Charles Percy’s passing. Senator Percy was a very talented man, with a strong dedication to public service. I admired Sen. Percy for his independence and the important mark he left on Illinois history – he was relentless in his drive to get things done on behalf of the people of Illinois. May our thoughts and prayers be with him and his family during this time as we remember a life well-lived by an exemplary public servant.”
