Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- With temperatures soaring dangerously high today and through the weekend, the Village of Park Forest reminds residents of designated cooling centers in town where residents can escape from the extreme heat.
Climate change experts say these temperatures may be the new norm, unfortunately.
Designated Cooling Centers

Designated cooling center hours: Mondays: 9 a.m. to 8 PM; Tuesday through Friday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The Park Forest Police Department
200 Lakewood Boulevard
Designated cooling center hours: 24 hours a day
The Park Forest Aqua Center, located at 30 North Orchard Drive, is an additional way for residents to cool off during the hot weather. Call 708-748-2005 for membership details.
During normal business hours, some residents might want to spend some time at the Park Forest Library as well.
