Normal, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Temi Thomas delivered nine kills with four digs and 10 service points, and Jordan Piekarski and Temilade Adekoya each dished out 11 assists on Friday, as Marian Catholic advanced to its first ever IHSA state title match with a 25-21, 25-13 victory over Bloomington Central Catholic at Illinois State University’s Redbird Arena. The Spartans (31-9) will take on conference rival Marian Central Catholic for the 3A title on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
Ashley Sledge chipped in six kills and Kaleigh Lester four for Marian, which dropped an earlier ESCC match to the conference champion Hurricanes. Rachel Churilla notched six digs, Lauren Hatch had three kills and Rose Ybarra chipped in three blocks.
