Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

A window of a residence in the 400 block of Indiana Street was reported shattered on September 29.

A front window of a residence in the 300 block of Early Street was reported shattered on September 30.

A women’s gold diamond cluster ring valued at $300, a gold crucifix pendant valued at $300, a PlayStation 3 game console valued at $300, and two PS3 games are among items reported stolen during a residential burglary in the 300 block of Waldmann Drive on September 30.

Approximately $15,000 in jewelry was reported missing from a jewelry box at a residence in the 300 block of Jackson Street on October 1. Police have suspect information and are investigating.

An officer responded to the 200 block of Mantua Street to investigate a report of a dog bite on October 1. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a man who said that he was standing in the front yard of his residence with his dog when he saw two pit bulls running Southeast down Mantua Street toward his residence. The man said he didn’t have enough time to protect his dog before the two pit bulls started to attack it. One pit bull was described as gray and white, the other was light tan and white. The pit bulls pulled the man’s dog into the street and continue to bite the dog. A vehicle pulled up next to the dogs and started to honk its horn and a male subject in the vehicle started yelling at the dogs. The pit bulls were scared by the sound of the horn and fled the area, according to police. The driver of the vehicle said that he was in the area when he saw the dogs fighting so he drove towards them and started to honk his horn until they stopped. The dog that was attacked was taken to an animal hospital. The officer observed puncture wounds to the dog’s rear legs as well as one to the right side of the chest area. Police are investigating.

Tanell K. Prempeh, 21, 2810 Lexington Dr., Hazel Crest, was arrested on October 4 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC over .08 and driving under the influence of alcohol when an officer was dispatched to conduct a well-being check of a driver and a vehicle that had stopped at the intersection of westbound Sauk Trail at Blackhawk Drive. According to police, Prempeh submitted to a breath test and provided a breath sample of .100.

An officer was dispatched to a business in the first block of South Orchard Drive on October 5 to investigate a report of theft. According to police, an employee was let go due to conflicts with other employees. Management noticed that the employee who had been let go had allegedly accepted applications for Illinois licenses and titles, along with payment for the same, but the applications had allegedly not been put through and the money was not accounted for, according to police. Police are investigating.

Tierra N. McMillan, 23, 3372 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on October 6 and charged with theft of labor or services when an officer responded to the 3300 block of Western Avenue to investigate a theft of services.

An officer traveling eastbound on Hemlock Street in an unmarked patrol vehicle on October 6 turned his patrol vehicle around at court H-1, attempting to travel in the opposite direction. Immediately upon turning around, the officer observed a subject exit the passenger side of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Hemlock Street. The subject began running northbound from the vehicle which had an audible security alarm sounding, according to police. The officer checked the vehicle, which had a temporary Indiana registration. All the exterior doors to the vehicle were unlocked. Upon checking the interior of the vehicle, the officer observed the vehicle’s keys were still inside the ignition. While recovering the keys, the officer could smell a strong odor of burnt cannabis emanating from the interior of the vehicle. The officer also observed a knotted plastic sandwich bag containing a green plant like substance, suspect cannabis, and the center console cup holder. The vehicle was impounded and the owner will be contacted by police.

Keiba Hazzard, 45, 2216 E. 220th St., Sauk Village, was arrested on October 6 and charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to the first block of South Arbor Trails to investigate a report of a disturbance.

Jonathan B. McQuitter, 20, 3637 Peoria St., Steger, was arrested on October 8 and issued a traffic citation charging speeding over the posted limit and a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis when an officer patrolling on Monee Road near Tamarac Street observed a vehicle traveling North on Monee Road that appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer activated his in-car mounted radar system and observed that the vehicle was traveling 57 mph in the 30 mph posted zone, according to police.

A vehicle reported stolen from the 3500 block of Western Avenue on October 10 was involved in a minor hit-and-run in Ford Heights on October 11, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Police. The occupants fled the scene and no one was in custody, according to police. The owner of the vehicle was notified.

Police were dispatched to the first block of Apache Street on October 10 to investigate a report of a domestic dispute. According to police, a woman was at her boyfriend’s house when a second woman allegedly walked over to the house and kicked the first woman’s vehicle in the rear passenger-side causing a small dent. The second woman then allegedly jumped on the hood of the vehicle with a knife in one hand and a can of mace in the other while bleeding heavily from her hand, according to police. The woman who was bleeding from her hand then ran away. A witness related that they had seen the woman punch out the front passenger-side window of the vehicle and then kicked the passenger side, jumping on the hood of the vehicle. Police have suspect information and are investigating.

The front bay windows of a residence in the first block of Apple Lane were reported shattered on October 11.

Police responded to a residence in the 200 block of Sauk Trail to investigate a report of a suspicious person on October 11. A resident told police that she heard someone ring the doorbell at approximately 7:55 PM. She was busy at the time and chose not to answer the door or see who was there. She then became suspicious and observed a male white subject in his 40s, wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans, outside the window. She observed that he was holding a mop. She asked the man what he was doing and he replied that the house was dark and he thought it was vacant. She told him to get away from the house, to which he replied that he thought the house was vacant and that he has “every right to go into a vacant house.” The woman called police.

The drivers side rear window of a vehicle parked at Rich East High School, 300 Sauk Trail, was reported shattered on October 11 and a purse was reported stolen from inside the vehicle. Police were dispatched at approximately 4:16 PM.

Approximately 10 pairs of gym shoes were reported stolen during a residential burglary in the 3000 block of Western Avenue on October 12. Entry was made to the residence via an open kitchen window, according to police.

All four tires of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Chestnut Street were reported slashed on October 12.

Cheyene R. Jones, 24, 18680 Maple Ave., Country Club Hills, was arrested on October 12 and issued municipal citations charging one taillight and possession of cannabis when an officer patrolling on Western Avenue near Algonquin Street observed that the vehicle Jones was driving had only one headlight, according to police. After turning to follow the vehicle, the officer observed that the vehicle had only one taillight as well, according to police.

The roof of a vehicle parked at a business in the first block of Main Street was reported dented on October 13. Additionally, the windshield to the vehicle was reported cracked. The damage to the vehicle occurred while the owner was inside the business shopping, according to police.

Max A. Potthoff, 1427 W. 183rd St., Homewood, was arrested on October 12 and issued traffic citations charging disobeying a stop sign, no insurance, and driving while license was suspended. Potthoff was also issued a municipal citation charging possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer conducting a stationary patrol at the stop sign at Monee Road and Ottawa Street observed the vehicle Potthoff was driving allegedly disobey the stop sign, according to police.
