Washington, DC—(ENEWSPF)—September 10, 2011.
Summary: Subaru is recalling certain model year 2010-2011 Outback and Legacy vehicles manufactured from January 7, 2010, through May 20, 2011. Components inside the wiper motor bottom cover may overheat.
Consequence: If the bottom cover overheats, the windshield wipers may become inoperable, reducing the operators visibility, which may increase the likelihood of a crash or a fire could result.
Remedy: Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front wiper motor bottom cover assembly free of charge. The Safety Recall is expected to begin during November 2011. Owners may contact Subaru at 800-782-2783.
Notes: Subaru’s Safety Recall number is WVW-32. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 800-424-9153), or go to http://www.safercar.gov .
