College Wide Open House and ‘Pokémon Go’ Campus Lure Party
SOUTH HOLLAND, IL –(ENEWSPF)–August 1, 2016. Players of the popular virtual reality mobile game “Pokémon Go” will have the opportunity to try and “catch ‘em all” at South Suburban College (SSC). A lure party will coincide with our 3rd Annual Open House on August 4, 2016 from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM on the Main Campus.
A “lure party” involves temporarily attracting a variety of rare Pokémon (virtual creatures) to one area. This benefits players within the radius of a Pokéstop. A “Pokéstop” is a location such as a landmark, statue or building. One Pokéstop is available on the northwest end of campus, near the Performing Arts Center.
Visitors playing “Pokémon Go” will have the opportunity to learn more about the options available at SSC. There will also be free WiFi, charging stations, and refreshments available in the Atrium.
Tone Kapone from WGCI will be broadcasting live during the event in the Cafeteria. He will be giving away premium prizes to visitors every half hour. The grand prize is a $500 cash back-to-school prize pack to assist one prospective student with their education. There will also be chances to win an iPad Air2 and Visa gift cards.
“We look forward to welcoming community residents to visit our outstanding campus on August 4th,” said SSC President Don Manning. “This is a fun opportunity to feature the quality education and variety of options offered at South Suburban College.”
Contact the Office of Admissions at 708-210-5718 for more information. SSC’s Main Campus is located at 15800 South State Street, South Holland, Illinois.
