University Park, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Governors State University’s ongoing commitment to reducing its carbon footprint was celebrated on Friday, November 14, with the dedication of the newly installed wind turbine. The turbine will generate 141,650 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually or approximately 36% of the GSU Family Development Center’s energy needs.

The Family Development Center houses the university’s Early Head Start, pre-kindergarten, and childcare programs.
