News from the Park Forest Police Department:
After a several year hiatus, the Parsk Forest Police Department and Park Forest Fire Department will again be facing each other in a friendly game of 12″ softball on August 20th at Central Park.
The events of the day will begin with a home run hitting contest open to the public at 5pm. Prizes include tickets to a Chicago White Sox game, Deep River Water Park passes, and a Family Fun Pack to the Windy City Thunderbolts.
For those not inclined to swing for the fences, there will be raffles with a wide variety of prizes, including items from the Chicago Bears, the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, the Museum of Science and Industry, the Star Plaza Theater, and many, many more. All proceeds benefit the Illinois Chapter of Concerns for Police Survivors and the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance Burn Camp.
Your police and fire departments will then face off in a softball game at 6pm. Concessions will be sold (proceeds to benefit Park Forest Baseball) and there will be activities for the kids. As always, watching the game and partaking in the kids activities are free. So mark your calendars, bring a blanket or some lawn chairs and stop by Central Park on August 20th to cheer on your favorite team.
Join us in Central Park for the fun.
