Three Years #TimStrong

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Officer Tim Jones, badge number 204, was shot in the line of duty on March 19, 2016. In no time at all, that tragic day will be three years in the past. And the Park Forest Police are calling for a “flood” of mail for Officer Jones.

Please consider donating for Officer Jones’ ongoing recovery: https://www.gofundme.com/timstrong

In a Facebook post, police invite letters — real letters — and cards. The kind that are made of paper:

“On March 19, 2016, Officer Tim Jones was critically injured in the line-of-duty while taking an armed offender into custody.

“Defying an initial prognosis that he would not survive his multiple injuries, today Tim is alive and well and continuing to fight towards recovery through an intensive rehabilitation program.

“He hasn’t given up, and neither have many of you, as he still receives cards and letters of encouragement to this day.

“As we approach the 3-year anniversary of Tim’s injuries, we’d like to do something special for Tim- we’d like to see the steady trickle of mail we receive for Tim turn into a flood. If you’d be willing, we’re asking for you to send a card, letter, or note of encouragement to Tim at the below address. We’ll be sure to get it to him, and we’re certain it will put that trademark smile on his face.”

Please send your cards and letters to:

“Please continue to keep Tim and his family in your prayers as they continue to battle,” his GoFundMe page says. “Tim is a wonderful , motivated and dedicated person. His smile and laugh are infectious.”
