Park Forest Police Extend “Deepest Sympathies” on Deaths of Two Chicago Police Officers Monday

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Two Chicago Police Officers were struck by a South Shore train Monday evening, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. It happened on the Far South Side, police said, as the officers were investigating a shooting. Park Forest Police extended their “deepest sympathies” in a statement on social media.

“As details emerge about two Chicago Police Department Officers killer after being struck by a train while investigating a shots fired call,” Park Forest Police wrote, “we find ourselves again extending our deepest sympathies to the men and women of that agency, their loved ones, and the people of the city of Chicago.”

“It’s been a very tough year for the Chicago Police Department. We mourn with you,” the statement concluded.

As of this writing, the officers have not been identified.
