CHICAGO HEIGHTS–(ENEWSPF)–February 11, 2016. Union Street Gallery will be hosting a National Juried Exhibit ‘A Curious Reality’ which has works that portray alternate universes and realities. In an era of pop culture that feeds us both mythological creatures and the apocalypse, Union Street Gallery will be exhibiting art that not only challenges the perceptions of reality but also engages in artistic expression within science fiction, mythology, gaming, and futuristic themes. For those of us who have grown up with the X-Files and video gaming, these conceptions of imagined futures, alternate realities, and alien life have influenced our awareness of these possibilities. Artists from all over the country have submitted works such as full scale models of androids to re-imagined versions of classic art with a science fiction twist.
