U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly Recognizes June as National Homeownership Month

Washington, DC–(ENEWSPF)–June 3, 2016.  U.S. Congresswoman Robin Kelly today issued the following statement in recognition of National Homeownership Month.

“I’m committed to helping people save their homes and maintaining property values in our communities, because I understand how hard all of us work to achieve the American dream of owning a home. When times get tough, it’s important to provide struggling homeowners with the information and resources that can help them keep their home. That’s why each spring I host a Housing Expo to assist homeowners in danger of foreclosure. This year, nearly 200 homeowners had the opportunity to apply directly to lenders for loan modifications. Others learned about foreclosure prevention, how to appeal property taxes and down-payment assistance programs for first-time home buyers. I ask all our lenders and agencies in the Chicagoland area to recommit themselves to helping struggling homeowners and rebuilding a healthier housing market.”
