Swim for free Thursday at the Park Forest Aqua Center. (ENEWSPF)
Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Midlothian decided on May 31 to cancel the 2012 swim season at the community’s Splish Splash Pool.
According to the Midlothian Park District, "On May 31 we made the decision to cancel the 2012 pool season. This decision was based on the fact that we were losing 30,000 to 40,000 gallons of water per day. We hired a plumbing contractor who believed that we had a leak in the main drain of the pool. Further investigation led him to believe that we needed to replace, not repair, the 24 foot section of drain pipe. This would require us to dig up the concrete deck near the diving well. If the time and money was spent on this repair, there was no assurance that this was the only leak and that our season could start."
The Park Forest Aqua Center opens today, and, for one day only, the facility is open for members and non-members who might want to swim in one of the four pools, one of which includes the water slide.
Swim season is upon us. Swim Park Forest today for free.
