University Park, IL—(ENEWSPF)–June 14, 2012 – Send your kite skyward over the magnificent Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park (NMSP) at Governors State University.

“Kids, Kolors & Kites” gives everyone who loves flying kites – young and old – a chance to experience the sky above and great art ground-level at the nationally-renowned sculpture park. The event takes place Sunday, June 24 from 2 to 5 p.m. at NMSP, on GSU’s main campus in University Park. “Kids, Kolors & Kites” will be held lakeside just north of the main university buildings.

The Nathan Manilow Sculture Park is providing kite kits for kids to decorate for $5. Participants can color their kites before launching them into a summer breeze. As an event partner, the Chicago Kite Co. will be on site for anyone who wants a bigger or more complex kite. The Illinois Kite Enthusiasts Club has been invited to the event.

Admission and parking are free. NMSP docents will be on hand for guidance and to give sculpture park tours. “Kids, Kolors & Kites” is part of the Summer of Sculpture 2012 at NMSP.
