Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- There will be a budget session this week at Village Hall and a Resume Workshop at the Park Forest Library. And there’s more. Our Muslim Brothers and Sisters are in the midst of observing Ramadan. To them, we say, “Ramadan Mubarak!” during this most-holy month.

Village Government: Budget Session

The Village Board will hold its third budget session on Thursday, May 14, beginning at 6 p.m. During that meeting, Public Works and Administration and Finance will present their portions of the next budget. For Public Works, this includes Motor Fuel Tax revenues and expenditures [MFT], Water, Sewer, Municipal Parking, Refuse, and Vehicle Services. For Administration/Finance, this includes the Manager’s Office, Boards and Commissions, Legal, Finance, Bond Retirement, Retirement Funds, and a catch-all category simply called “Other.”

These sessions are open to the public. eNews Park Forest attended and took a video of the first budget session on May 7. During that meeting, staff introduced the budget to the board members, there was a financial summary and challenges presentation, then the Fire Department, Police Department, and Community Development (Housing) presented their sections of the budget.

The budget session will take place in the Board Room in Village Hall.

This is complete video of the meeting:
