Dollar General Set to Open Park Forest Store Later This Year

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Chicago area developer Millco Investments acquired 1.25 acres of a 3.5 acre site July 23, 2013 in south suburban Park Forest. The acreage, located at 10 Main Street marks the gateway to Park Forest’s four-block central business district and is slated to become the site of a Dollar General store later this year.  Plans for the new store call for the construction of a 9,100sf facility adjacent to First Midwest Bank, at the corner of Main Street and Western Avenue.

Park Forest Mayor John A. Ostenburg says residents of the neighborhood are excited to see ground breaking at the site and look forward to the store’s presence in the community. “We welcome Dollar General to Park Forest and hope the store has much success and longevity in town. It is always nice to have more local options for our residents to do business with.”

Dollar General joins eighty-three businesses in Park Forest’s DownTown business district including Walgreens, CVS, First Midwest Bank and Chase Bank.

Officials with Dollar General hope to open the new Park Forest location prior to the start of the 2013 holiday season.
