The Will Group Helps Utilities Upgrade To LED Using TWiG App, Creating Jobs Along The Way

Chicago, IL –(ENEWSPF)–October 26, 2016.  TWiG, a new app set to revolutionize the utilities industry, assisted in the upgrade of over 40,000 antiquated street light fixtures to energy efficient LED in the first months of 2016.

TWiG is the newest offering from The Will Group (TWG), a Chicago-based lighting innovator that first began offering survey services to their utility and municipal clients in 2013. These clients sought to maintain, create, or upgrade their existing lighting fixture infrastructure but were uncertain of the number, type, and location of fixtures comprising their inventory. The customizable, patented, web-based application (TWiG) seeks to help clients better understand what equipment populates their infrastructure, and its condition. The application has identified streetlights which were not being billed to customers, eliminated or streamlined the traditional office work and engineering involved in infrastructure upgrades, utilized field results to ensure safe conditions, and provided the exact location of any immediately required repairs.

Armed with the power of TWiG and a fuel efficient vehicle fleet, the survey crews have visited more than 120,000 assets while driving over 45,000 miles through 75 townships throughout the Midwest with more to come.

“Our industry experience combined with the development of TWiG has allowed us to offer new and existing clients a service, and technology that allows them to update their existing infrastructure more efficiently while creating meaningful jobs.” – Joshua Davis, TWiG Founder

By adding surveying to its list of offerings, The Will Group has created a dozen surveying jobs in 2016 with plans to create dozens more by 2018. “A career is exactly what I have here with The Will Group. I feel valued more so here than ever before,” said field surveyor Charles Hayden III. “As a single father, it’s great to have a job that not only provides and is stable, but also understands the importance of family and offers a good work/life balance,” said Survey Coordinator Tom Gazdacka.

The Will Group, celebrating its 30th year in business, was founded by Stephen L. Davis to honor his father while promoting the core values of integrity, pride and the hard work he was well-known for.  Although each Will Group company is a separate, distinct and independent entity, all operate with the common philosophy “Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way.”

TWiG is also available via licensing. For additional information about TWiG please visit Assets.TheWillGroup.com.
