Top 20 Accounting Firm to Move from Skokie, Bring 150 to 200 Jobs to Loop
CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–July 31, 2012. Mayor Emanuel announced today that Reznick Group will move its Midwest headquarters from Skokie to Chicago in the next year, and will bring 150 to 200 total jobs to downtown by the end of 2015.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Reznick Group is ranked among the top 20 accounting firms in the United States, providing accounting, tax and business advisory services to clients nationwide. The company works in many areas, including affordable housing and commercial real estate, and in industries such as construction, government, financial services, manufacturing and distribution, nonprofits, renewable energy and technology. Reznick Group was founded in 1977, and has offices around the country and in India.
In May of this year, Reznick Group and J.H. Cohn LLP, Roseland, N.J., two of the top-20 ranked accounting, tax and consulting firms in the United States, announced plans to merge and become the 11th largest firm in the country with more than 2,000 employees, 25 offices and combined revenues of more than $450M. Principals and Partners of both firms have agreed to the combination and terms. Pending final approvals, the merger is anticipated to take effect in September.

Reznick’s offices will be located in the heart of downtown Chicago. In the Plan for Economic Growth and Jobs, produced earlier this year by World Business Chicago at Mayor Emanuel’s request, attracting corporate and regional headquarters to Chicago was a key focus and goal. Additionally, that report called on Chicago to grow its areas of strength, including professional services, and this announcement helps further that leadership.
This is the 32nd jobs announcement made by Mayor Emanuel since he took office, totaling more than 20,000 jobs.
