Impact of Fracking for Natural Gas in Illinois – Wednesday, September 18

On Wednesday, September 18 at 6:30 p.m., the Park Forest Area League of Women Voters will host a meeting at the home of Mary Lubertozzi, 3434 Attica Rd., Olympia Fields. There are no federal regulations on this industry, so responsibility for protecting the environment from this activity has become the responsibility of individual states. The League of Women Voters supports efforts to control pollution of our natural resources in order to preserve the physical, chemical and biological inte4grity of ecosystems and to protect public health. The meeting is open to the public and anyone interested in the topic is encouraged to attend to learn more about this important issue.
