Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is the policy of eNews Park Forest to not remove items in the public record from publication. If your name is listed in the police reports, we will only add information relevant to the final disposition of the case at hand, e.g. "Mr. Smith was subsequently acquitted," or "All charges against Mr. Smith were subsequently dropped." We will do so upon receiving and verifying proof of such disposition.

We will always include some introductory comments before the first item. While everything that follows is a matter of public record, we do not believe it is necessary to have names on page one. 

Eric S. Cummings, 26, 1602 Euclid Ave., Chicago Heights, was arrested on February 15 and charged with failure to wear a seatbelt, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to yield to an audible signal for emergency vehicle, unsafe equipment, illegal transportation of alcohol and drivers license expired when an officer on patrol traveling southbound on Western Ave. at Algonquin St. observed a driver traveling on Western Ave. who was allegedly not wearing his seatbelt. Police discovered that a passenger in the car, Christopher Small, 19, 209 Ash St., Park Forest, had an outstanding no-bond warrant from the Illinois Department of Corrections for an alleged parole violation. Small was placed under arrest. Another passenger, Shnae C. Belt, 21, 4525 West Saratoga, Richton Park, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis.

Richard A. Adeniyi, 18, 3 Warwick Ct., Park Forest, was arrested on February 16 and charged with failure to wear a seatbelt, speeding over the posted limit, failure to signal, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, fleeing and eluding a peace officer and driving while license suspended when an officer patrolling in the area of 26th St. and the west end of Allegheny St. observed the driver of a car not wearing a seatbelt.

Tonya Knackmuhs, 29, 1204 NE Madison, Apt. 4, Peoria, IL, was arrested on February 16 and charged with failure to signal and possession of cannabis when detectives traveling southbound on Allegheny observed a vehicle Knackmuhs was driving allegedly failed to make a complete stop at east end of Allegheny St. and 26th St. and failure to signal.

Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Arrowhead St. on February 16 to investigate a burglary incident. A bedroom window was reported shattered. Police continue to investigate.

Jamar D. Kelly, 28, 41 W. Main St., Chicago Heights, was arrested on February 16 and charged with fleeing and attempting to elude police, improper lane usage, disobeying a stop sign, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, and driver’s license revoked when an officer on patrol traveling westbound on Allegheny Street observed a passenger the officer recognized as someone he believed had an outstanding warrant get into the car. The passenger, Jason A. Branch, 19 Apache, Park Forest, was processed on the Will County warrant.

James Coleman, Jr., 56, 403 Wilshire, Park Forest, was arrested on February 17 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to that address to investigate a domestic battery complaint.

Derrick Nabors Jr., 22, 314 W. 34th St., Steger, was arrested on February 17 and charged with possession of cannabis, improper display of registration, drivers license not on person and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle when an officer on patrol on Western Ave. observed the vehicle Nabors was driving had the registration allegedly obscured by a plastic cover.

A green 2007 Honda Accord, IL registration SHELAH7, was reported stolen from the driveway of a residence in the 200 block of Marquette on February 19. The vehicle was entered into LEADS.

A juvenile was arrested on February 19 and charged with truancy when police were dispatched to the area of Forest Trail Middle School in reference to a truant student.

Brandon C. Lake, 23, 122 Sauk Trail, Park Forest, was arrested on February 19 and charged with criminal damage to property when police were dispatched to the intersection of Shabbona and Blackhawk to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance.

Kyle A. Fitzpatrick, 17, 1113 W. 185th Place, Homewood, was arrested on February 19 and charged with failure to signal when required and a suspended driver’s license. An officer on patrol observed the vehicle Fitzpatrick was driving allegedly turn from Westwood Dr. onto North Orchard without the turn signals being activated.

A juvenile was arrested on February 20 and charged with aggravated battery when a detective working as a Rich East liaison officer at Rich East High School was notified of a fight inside the Dean’s office.

Miketer T. Taylor, 30, 152 26th St., Park Forest, was arrested on February 20 and charged with resisting a peace officer and an Illinois State Police warrant in reference to driving while license suspended when an officer went to that address to locate Taylor regarding the active warrant for his arrest.

Paul William Dion Bax, 23, 35 Churn, Matteson, was arrested on February 21 and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, driving without headlights, driving while license suspended, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and open alcohol-driver when detectives traveling westbound on Sauk Trail approaching Blackhawk observed a vehicle turning onto Sauk Trail allegedly without its headlights activated. A passenger in the car, Brian L. Jones, 19, 2942 W. 144th St., Blue Island, was arrested and charged with open alcohol-passenger.

Paulette D. Gresham, 30, 5318 Crosswinds, Richton Park, was arrested on February 22 and charged with possession of cannabis, driving with a suspended driver’s license, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, expired registration sticker and no rear registration plate light when an officer traveling on Sauk Trail stopped at a red light at the Westwood intersection and observed that the registration plate of the vehicle in front of him was not illuminated, according to police.

Police responded to the 3000 block of Western Avenue on February 22 to investigate a report of an attempted residential burglary. Police continue to investigate.

Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Rutledge on February 22 to investigate the theft of a firearm. Police continue to investigate.
