In-person Absentee Voting Begins Friday


Cook County, IL—(ENEWSPF)— More than 200K suburban voters have cast ballots in Early Voting

Voters who were unable to participate in Early Voting and can provide a valid excuse under the law why they cannot make it to their polling place on Election Day may vote in-person absentee starting Friday. In-person absentee voting will be available Oct. 31 – Nov. 3 at Clerk David Orr’s six offices:

  • Downtown Chicago: 69 W. Washington, Fifth Floor
  • North suburbs: Skokie Courthouse, 5600 W. Old Orchard Road, Room 149
  • Northwest suburbs: Rolling Meadows Courthouse, 2121 Euclid Ave., Room 238
  • West suburbs: WhitcombBuilding (near Maywood courthouse), 1311 Maybrook Square, Room 109, Maywood
  • South suburbs: Markham Courthouse, 16501 S. Kedzie Ave., Room 238
  • Southwest suburbs: Bridgeview Courthouse, 10220 S. 76th Ave., Room 238

Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31 and Monday, Nov. 3, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 1-2.

Some of the allowable excuses include: voter will be absent from county on Nov. 4; observing a religious holiday; serving as a juror; working as an election official or polling place worker; or if a voter is disabled. Voters who need information about polling place locations or would like to see their virtual ballot can visit www.voterinfonet.com.

EARLY VOTING TURNOUT EXCEEDS 200,000

More than 14,000 voters cast ballots today at 44 suburban sitesbetween polls opening and 1:30 p.m., bringing the cumulative Early Voting tally to more than 212,000. That’s greater than quadruple the total turnout during the primary’s Early Voting period.
