The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced today that Lipari Foods, LLC has issued a voluntary recall of specific dark chocolate products due to an undeclared milk allergen. The products were packaged by Lipari’s sister company JLM.
Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. The products are safe to eat by those who do not have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk.
To date, there are no reported illnesses in connection with these products.
These recalled products were distributed to retail stores throughout Alabama, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Wisconsin and West Virginia.
The products were distributed under the Weis and All Natural brand names or as generic product without branding.
